The Core NMR Facility at the University of California, Davis invites applications for an NMR Facility Technical Director. The University job title will be 100% Academic Coordinator. The primary responsibility will be to oversee, maintain and troubleshoot the operation of 9 NMR spectrometers in the core NMR Facility, as well as to train and collaborate with researchers and provide assistance with experimental design, execution and interpretation of magnetic resonance data.
A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field in magnetic resonance is preferred. The appointee should possess expertise in magnetic resonance hardware, knowledge of cryo systems (helium liquefier and Bruker cryo-probe maintenance), electronics, and have the ability to maintain and repair NMR instrumentation. In addition, the appointee should have experience with both high-resolution NMR spectroscopy for liquids and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as applications of NMR and MRI to chemistry, biology, and biomedical engineering, including knowledge of Bruker Topspin and ParaVision software, Varian VnmrJ software, and Bruker pulse programing.
The deadline for consideration is April 15, 2021.
